Applications
Small Animal Irradiation

Small animal models have been widely applied in radiobiological studies predicated on the basis of genetic and physiological similarities with humans.
Current areas of study include genome editing technologies, in-vivo analysis, testing of different therapeutic techniques by damaging tissue and studying the immune system in animal models.
Animals such as rodents are used to study the effect of radiation both locally and systemically. Small animal research involving irradiation attempts to mimic clinical settings by irradiating small target volumes with high levels of precision and accuracy to create immunosuppressed immune systems which can be used to study and identify new therapeutic candidates and develop new therapies for diseases.
